Dental Implants Cost
What Determines How Much Dental Implants Cost?
Number of Implants
Simply put, our dentist has to use more materials to replace a greater number of natural teeth. Filling in the gap left by one missing tooth requires one implant, one abutment piece, and a single-tooth implant-supported crown. However, replacing all the teeth along a dental arch can require four to eight implants, the same number of abutments, and an implant-supported denture. Using additional materials to replace more teeth will increase the cost of your treatment, but the aesthetic and functional benefits will be well worth it.
Sedation
It may surprise you to learn that implant placement is not especially uncomfortable. The procedure can usually be performed with just local anesthesia. However, if you have dental anxiety, tooth or gum sensitivity, or difficulty sitting comfortably through dental procedures, sedation is available to keep you calm and relaxed while in our care. Receiving sedation will add to your costs, but you'll be able to enjoy greater peace of mind during your treatment.
Preparatory Care
If you have existing dental health issues or have been missing teeth for a long time, you may need additional treatment before we can place your dental implants. Problems like tooth decay or gum disease can be treated with restorative therapy, and the jaw deterioration caused by missing teeth can be treated with a bone graft, in which lost tissue is restored to create a solid foundation for dental implants. We can perform all aspects of your preparatory care at our offices in Nutley and Florham Park. These treatments will add to your costs, but they provide invaluable health benefits.
Insurance and Financing Information For Dental Implants
If you have dental insurance, you will likely receive at least partial coverage for your implant-supported crowns, bridges, or dentures. However, implants and abutments are not likely to be covered. We accept many forms of insurance, and our insurance coordinators will gladly file on your behalf and help you seek maximum coverage.
We don't want insurance status or finances keep our patients from getting the treatments they need for the health and function of their smiles. This is why we offer financing through CareCredit® and GreenSky®. You can secure a loan with little or no interest and flexible monthly payment plans that work for your budget.
Are Dental Implants Really Worth It?
Dental implants are absolutely worth the cost. They are the only treatment that can halt and prevent the progression of jawbone atrophy after tooth loss, and they offer unparalleled support for lifelike restorations. Traditional restorations that use adhesives to stay in place, like dentures, cannot match the stability that dental implants provide.
Treatment with implants is especially worth the cost when performed by our dentist, Mark Khaimov. He employs a number of innovative techniques and technologies to ensure his patients can enjoy the very best results from their care.
Some of our favorite tools that aid in the implant process include 3D CT scans, which we can use to capture detailed images of your mouth and plan your implant surgery with the highest degree of accuracy, and the TeethXpress® method, which allows us to place implants and a temporary denture in just one appointment. You can walk out of our office with a fully functional smile on the same day of your surgery.
